David Shea was born in 1965. Pupil of Morton Feldman, he has been active in the New York downtown new music scene from a very young age. For the last four years he has been involved in many projects of John Zorn and has performed with him in many places in Europe and USA. He has also worked in close collaboration with Marc Ribot, Jim Pugliese, Anthony Coleman, etc. From 1986 to 1990, he worked as a club dj playing hip hop, house and jazz at many clubs in New York, including Kilimanjaro, the village gates and the pyramide. David Shea works now as a composer for strings quartet and sampler solo, and it is close to nothing known in music today.

Written and recorded in New York City by the young protégé of John Zorn, this record in 7 parts is based on The Prisoner, the BBC television series. It is a kind of homage to the legend of the number 6, and more generally a tribute to the musical writing of series such as: Secret Agent, The Fugitive, The Avengers; and composers: John Barry, Elmer Bernstein, Albert Elms...
